How to transcribe a Telegram video or voice message
Choose the right source, request the outputs you need and retrieve the transcript from the original conversation.

Open Video Transcriber1. Open an assistant that supports recordings
Choose Video Transcriber from Discover or the shared Telegram bot's assistant browser. Sign in or use your linked Telegram account when prompted.
2. Send the actual source
For a public video post, send its Telegram URL. For a private post, forward the recording or upload the file. Forwarding only the text of a private link does not give the assistant access to its media.
3. Specify the result before processing
A useful request is:
Transcribe the attached recording in its source language. Give me a short English summary and a table of decisions, owners and due dates. Use “not stated” where the speaker gives no owner or date.
The source-language hint helps speech recognition. It is different from asking for a translated output.
4. Follow progress in the same conversation
Downloading and transcribing can run as background work. Keep the original task thread for progress and results. When work finishes, the assistant can continue the summary or other transformations you originally requested.
5. Review and download
Use the complete transcript file for archiving and the summary for a quick overview. Compare critical names, figures and decisions with the audio, especially if speakers overlap or the recording is noisy.
If the public link cannot be downloaded
A Telegram preview can omit the downloadable media. Forward the video message itself, or upload the recording. If the job exceeds the displayed duration or size limit, use a shorter recording or a selected portion.
See the Telegram transcription overview for supported outputs.
